Speech is never switched off
A voice you already had is never held hostage to a payment. If a subscription lapses, Sayella degrades to local-only on your device. It does not go silent.
Our mission
Sayella builds inclusive communication and learning tools for nonverbal and minimally-verbal people, their families, therapists and schools, on whatever device they already own, without a subscription standing between a person and their voice. Sayella AAC is our first app.

When a therapist first recommends a communication app, families hit a wall. The most respected apps are locked to one platform, cost as much as a phone, and a growing number now switch off a child’s voice unless you keep paying.
We think that is the wrong way round. Communication is a basic human right, not a premium upgrade, and the same is true of learning. So we started Sayella to build the inclusive tools we wished existed: affordable, cross-platform, and honest about your data.
The incumbents are expensive, often two hundred and fifty pounds or more, and the leading UK desktop software runs far higher. Many are locked to iPhone and iPad, which pushes families on Android, or schools issuing Chromebooks, toward older and clunkier tools. Several have drifted to subscriptions, in some cases disabling speech on a nonverbal person’s device until the next payment clears. And the work a parent pours into a vocabulary is too often trapped in a format they cannot take with them.
Sayella AAC, our first app, answers each of those on purpose. One app and one account across iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and the web. A genuine one-off Lifetime path so no family, school or charity is ever locked out by a recurring fee. Speech that works offline and is never switched off. And open, standard export so your words are always yours. The same promises carry to every app we build next.
We are an early-stage UK team building in the open, with speech and language therapists and educators, for the families, clinicians and schools who have been priced out or locked in. This page is where our social proof will come from honestly, as real families and clinicians join us. We would rather show you an empty space we intend to fill than invent a quote.

There is always a one-off, lifetime way to own a Sayella app, so families, schools and charities that cannot pay recurring fees are never locked out.
Export your vocabulary in an open, standard format any time. If you ever leave Sayella, you take your words with you. No lock-in, ever.
Switch scanning, VoiceOver and TalkBack, auditory scanning and a configurable high-contrast highlight are designed in from the start, not bolted on.
We write to a person at the kitchen table, not a procurement form. Age-tiered themes mean a teenager or adult is never made to feel like a child when they speak.
Every button pairs a symbol with the printed word, so the system reads for colour-blind and CVI users too. Colour supports meaning, it never carries it alone.
We are launching
Sayella AAC, our first app, is launching now, free to start on any device. More inclusive communication and learning tools are in development. We are also forming a small clinical advisory board of speech and language therapists and educators, and we will name our advisers here as they come on board. Family stories will live here too, only ever real ones.
Interested in joining the advisory board? Reach us at hello@sayella.app.

Sayella’s symbol set is built on the Mulberry Symbols, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence (CC BY-SA), with an owned AI house style layered on top so symbols stay clear and consistent. We name our sources because trust matters more than mystique, and because your right to portable, open data starts with being honest about what is inside the app.
Two pages put our promises in writing: our group accessibility commitment, and exactly what Sayella AAC costs.
